How We Got Here

Look, we didn't start out as this fancy boutique hotel you see today. Back in 2009, this building on Robson Street was just another tired property that'd seen better days. But someone saw potential where others saw problems.

The renovation took almost three years - yeah, longer than anyone expected - but we weren't rushing it. Every detail mattered. We wanted to create something that felt authentically Vancouver while bringing that boutique luxury experience folks usually have to fly to Europe for.

When we finally opened our doors in 2012, we had 87 rooms, a restaurant that locals actually wanted to eat at, and a conference center that didn't feel like every other boring meeting space in the city. People noticed.

The Journey So Far

2009
The Beginning

Acquired the property on Robson Street. Most people thought we were crazy - the place needed serious work. But the location? Perfect. The bones of the building? Solid. We knew we had something special.

2012
Grand Opening

Opened our doors after extensive renovations. Started with 87 luxury rooms and suites. The local press was skeptical at first, but our first guests became our best ambassadors. Word spread fast.

2014
Spa & Wellness Addition

Added our spa and wellness center after guests kept asking for it. Brought in therapists who actually know what they're doing - not just people who took a weekend course. It's become one of our most popular features.

2017
Conference Center Expansion

Expanded our conference facilities. Tech companies and creative agencies started booking us for their big events. Turns out people appreciate meeting spaces that don't make you want to fall asleep.

2020
Adapting & Growing

Yeah, that year was tough for everyone in hospitality. But we adapted - enhanced cleaning protocols, reimagined our spaces for safety, supported our team through it all. Made us stronger, honestly.

Today

We're proud of what we've built. A team that genuinely cares, guests who come back (and bring their friends), and a reputation we've earned one stay at a time. Still improving, still learning, still here for you.

What We're Actually About

Here's the thing - we could throw a bunch of fancy words at you about "unparalleled luxury" and "world-class service," but that's not really our style. We're more straightforward than that.

We believe a great hotel stay shouldn't feel stuffy or pretentious. Yeah, we've got the luxury part down - high thread count sheets, quality toiletries, rooms that actually make you want to stay in - but we're also approachable. You can chat with our staff without feeling like you're bothering them. Because you're not.

Why Vancouver, Why Robson Street

Location matters, and we've got it. Robson Street puts you right in the heart of downtown Vancouver. You can walk to pretty much everything - Stanley Park's a 15-minute stroll, Gastown's nearby, the waterfront's close. You're not stuck taking cabs everywhere.

Vancouver itself? It's a special city. Mountains meet ocean, urban meets nature. World-class dining scene, diverse neighborhoods, that West Coast vibe that's laid-back without being lazy. We love being part of this community.

Our building fits right into the neighborhood's character. We're not some glass tower trying to dominate the skyline. We're part of the fabric here, and locals actually use our restaurant and spa. That tells you something.

What's Next for Us

We're not the type to rest on our laurels. There's always something we're working on improving. Right now, we're looking at sustainability initiatives - better waste management, energy efficiency, that kind of thing. Not for PR points, but because it's the right thing to do.

We're also planning to refresh some of our suites next year. They're nice now, but we want them to be exceptional. And we're always training our team, bringing in new perspectives, listening to what guests tell us.

The goal isn't to become some massive chain. It's to keep being really, really good at what we do. That's enough for us.
